Traffic Management Design
We are capable of preparing and reviewing Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes for road upgrades and development construction and event management plans.
HIG employs several DTMR qualified Traffic Management Designers with a deep understanding of the statutory requirements involved in traffic management activities. We provide efficient traffic management designs with reduced implementation costs that comply with all regulatory requirements.
Lighting Design
HIG provides appropriate and safe solutions for intersection, route and pedestrian lighting. Our skilled designers and engineers utilise the latest software packages to provide the certified electrical and civil components of street lighting design packages.
We are accredited Ergon Public Lighting designers with an A rating and Energex provider. Our team also have extensive experience auditing existing installations and upgrading existing installations to LED.
Traffic Engineering
We have prepared and successfully negotiated conditions for Traffic and Pavement Impact Assessment Studies for over 500 developments and projects including shopping complex developments, service centres, quarries, large scale residential developments, industrial developments, childcare centres, and medical centres.
We utilise SIDRA Intersection and AIMSUN for intersection and network modelling, and undertake Pavement Impact Assessments to determine the extent of road impacts and explore mitigation options.
We regularly provide peer review services for local government and state agencies and have acted as expert witnesses at Queensland’s Planning and Environment Court.
Road Safety Audits
HIG offers a very experienced team of DTMR registered road safety auditors and Road and Maritime Services NSW Government registered auditors. With over 20 years of experience, we have produced thorough, efficient and quality road safety audit reports for all phases of projects for local agencies and DTMR across Queensland.
In addition, HIG take advantage of state-of-the-art equipment including a Vericom, GPS linked video-pro cameras and infra-red reflectometers to ensure accurate results. Under the road safety banner, we have also conducted numerous guardrail assessments for the determination of the most appropriate treatment of roadside hazards.
Traffic Signal Design
HIG provide a team of very experienced and innovative Traffic Signal designers who maintain skills with the latest DTMR and local government requirements.
We effectively link intersection geometrics, traffic signal layouts and cable connection plans to provide certified complete and comprehensive design package. We also utilise SIDRA software to determine appropriate phasing and intersection configurations.
HIG specialises in providing the most appropriate and safest solutions to improve intersection safety and capacity drawing on our experience and innovative approach.
HIG can also provide electrical certification of our drawings via a working relationship established with an electrical RPEQ.
