Asking R U OK? — Any Day

At HIG, we believe in Starting Life-changing Conversations!

Looking back to this year's R U OK DAY (12th of September), we celebrated with morning teas around our offices (with a splash of yellow). From Nodo Donuts to home-baked cupcakes from our Team in Toowoomba — our team had a chance to step back and enjoy a sweet, relaxed moment with teammates.

It’s simple moments like these that can be life-changing and make someone’s day. We can never know what everyone is going through or experiencing, and that’s ok.

Life’s busy. Mondays turn into Fridays in a blink. It shows that if we don’t take that little moment...that couple of minutes when you’re making a coffee or sitting down for lunch with teammates...we may never actually ask “R U Ok?” to someone who needs it.

At Harrison Infrastructure Group, we're dedicated to fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional development to ensure that our team remains at the forefront of our industry. We celebrate our team's consistent innovations, always encouraging and supporting inventive initiative.

    • Count to three as you breathe in slowly

    • Count to three as you breathe out slowly

  2. Progressive Muscle Relaxation

This exercise can help reduce the feelings of muscle tension that often comes with anxiety:

    • Find a quiet location

    • Close your eyes and slowly tense and then relax each of your muscle groups from your toes to your head

    • Hold the tension for three seconds and then release quickly

  3. Stay in the Present Moment

Anxiety can make your thoughts live in a terrible future that hasn’t happened yet. Try to bring yourself back to where you are. Practising meditation can help.

  4. Be Kind to Yourself

Practising self-compassion can help reduce your anxiety. We all deserve to be nurtured, even by ourselves. Find out how to develop a stay well plan.
