Highway & Road Design
HIG specialise in all facets of highway and road design, from major highway interchanges to residential accesses, with particular expertise for DTMR and local government projects.
Our team of engineers and designers are highly experienced in the application of design packages such as 12D, MX, AutoCAD and Civil 3D. We capitalise on our in-house expertise to provide a holistic approach to road design.
In addition to the completion of countless successful design projects HIG have also produced the “Low Order Roads Design Guide” on behalf of IPWEAQ.
Structural Design & Engineering
We offer you extensive experience in structural engineering for commercial, government, residential and industrial projects of all sizes. In particular, we specialise in Bridge Design for both DTMR and Local Government.
We utilise ACES, SpaceGass and Structural Toolkit to complete our designs and offer specialties in both bridge and building design. We also provide construction supervision, inspections and independent certification services, during your construction phase.

Design Visualisations
HIG are one of very few regional firms with the ability to produce and supply visualisations. We combine design, 3d animation and post production skills to give you a complete visual model of all aspects of your project.
We can provide your company with a cutting edge presentation that can be utilised for public consultation, funding submissions, advertising and training. Visualisations can be designed as a walk or drive through from both helicopter and driver perspectives.
Visualisations can include buildings, roads (including furniture), trees, tunnels and can incorporate the integration of architectural models from Revit.
Transport Planning
Specialising in all aspects of transport planning including public transport and major road infrastructure projects. HIG has extensive experience in these areas in association with local government and state government agencies.
HIG have worked on many significant projects including the South East and Inner Northern Busways, Gold Coast Light Rail and corridor protection of key routes in the road network such as the Logan Motorway.
We understand the importance of the option development processes and use multi criteria analysis that takes into account key constraints. This allows us to identify the ultimate solution and in turn effectively communicate concepts with key stakeholders.
